Annual bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, annual ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass are some cool weather grasses that can be in your lawn. These grasses will go to seed in the spring and can be confused with crabgrass or other invasive weeds. This is normal for these grasses and they require no treatment.
The seed head production will stop in a few weeks and your lawn will go back to normal. If you find these grasses objectionable, you can keep your lawn mowed to avoid the spread of these seedlings.
